Guilds

Please self-organize into groups by joining one of the Guilds below. To join a Guild, list your name under the Guild name and list your Character Class next to your name.

There can be as many or as few Guilds as you prefer - please add more Guilds if you feel the need, and don't feel bad about leaving any of the guilds below empty. The most important things to consider when joining a Guild are (1) each Guild needs at least one member of each character class, and (2) during Quests 5 and 6 you will need to collaborate closely with other members of your Guild.

Optionally, you may also want to choose a different name for your Guild (Guild # is pretty boring), create a group blog for your Guild that aggregates group members relevant posts, choose a Guild mascot, etc. Have as much fun with your Guild as you like.

Guild Quest

Quest 2-4: Do a feasibility analysis of the course "US History II" as illustrated by the Utah State standards (at http://www.uen.org/core/core.do?courseNum=6250).

Each member of the guild takes 1-2 standards and looks for open resources to teach that standard.

Quest 1

Employ espionage and reconnaissance as you review the following OER project sites. Evaluate the reuse/remix potential of the media, looking at openness of structure, openness of code, security, source availability, semantics, license compatibility, etc. Review a sufficient sample of courses per site to gain accurate insight into their habits and routines. Write a substantive blog post that puts forth strategic directions for the re-release and reuse of the sites' media with special attention to unlocking those OER that may be imprisoned by CMS or final format software. (List of 7 OER projects)
